Wake up with the mountains outside your window
Zonnen-Alp sits on the first floor (one flight up) of a detached house in Forstau, on the border of Salzburgerland and Styria. You only share the entrance with me; in the summer months I am usually in the Netherlands and in winter often in Forstau. Otherwise you enjoy complete privacy. In the morning you drink your coffee on the balcony with sweeping mountain views while the children bounce on the trampoline in the fenced garden.
Behind the garden runs a stream where children build little dams. The ski bus stops almost at the door and the family ski area Fageralm is a stone's throw away.

Winter starts at the front door
Fageralm is 600 m away, with a children's area at the valley station; Reiteralm is 4 km away, and the Ski amadé pass also covers Schladming-Dachstein, Zauchensee and Flachau. Obertauern is within easy reach too, but is not part of Ski amadé.

Forstau, quiet between the peaks
Forstau lies peacefully on the border of Salzburgerland and Styria, surrounded by mountains. In the village the nearest restaurants are 500 m away; do your shopping at Hofer and Billa 5 km away, or Penny and MPreis at 6.8 km. Pichl-Schladming railway station is a short drive away.
In summer the Schladming-Dachstein Summer Card is included; in winter the ski bus is free with your lift pass. From summer 2027 a mobility levy applies, collected with the tourist tax.

Keepsake
A tile from Forstau
My daughter designed this wall tile of Forstau in winter: the village, the mountains and the gondolas above them. Ten by ten centimetres, with a hook on the back so it can go straight on the wall at home.
Available from me at the apartment, and from the tourist office (Tourismusverband) in Forstau.
